Almonds

One of the 1st dried fruits and nut products that came into Focus for us at Proventus. With a setup in the local Mandi at APMC in 2015, we began with localized trading of Almond Kernel and Inshell Almond. Post which, following the margin, we stepped into the Direct imports from origin farms in California, USA and Australia. Gaining significant market share in imports in the 1st year itself, while simultaneously gaining an understanding of the intricacies of Inshell Almond Processing via numerous Job Work partners in Mumbai. With this product knowledge; a hold on Sourcing and distribution both internationally and Locally, we were able to set up our own Processing Plant in 2017 - achieving a processing capacity of 50 MT of Inshell Almond a Day. With this expertise and our focus on quality production we are now the choicest supplier of various modern retail houses in India including but not limited to Reliance Retail, Dmart, More Retail and Metro Cash and Carry. Almond is also one of the 1st products supplied in our own brand ProV. With our current Experience in the product we are able to service the almond needs of diverse clientele - wholesale traders, retail consumers, modern retail white labels, packers and processors; and in diverse forms - the whole natural, roasted salted, blanched, sliced/diced and even in powder. And we still have a lot planned - including the production of Almond oil, and almond waste bio briquettes

Pistachios

Using our diverse network of overseas and local suppliers we have been able to build a strong procurement footing in the Pistachio sphere - covering both Californian and Irani origin Pistachios. As an affiliate of the American Pistachio Growers Association - we have developed a relationship with the choicest growers and suppliers of Pistachios in the USA - garnering the ability to directly source from them and becoming an integral part of the growth of sales and pistachio market development in India. Further to this, we have developed an in-house ability to process and flavour 3000 kg per day of pistachios in our in-house facility to meet the demand of Indian consumer tastes. With an ability to source and provide in-shell pistachios, flavoured in-shell pistachios, pistachio kernels of varying sizes we have had the ability to distribute the produce to varying market needs - from bakers as ingredients to final retail consumers for consumption.

Cashews

with India being one the largest producers, processors and consumers of cashews in the world - we at Proventus were already poised to take advantage of a large and diverse nuts market of which cashew nuts form a major chunk. With a pan India presence, we have been able to source both raw and processed cashews from major suppliers/processors in India - with a focus on the cashew centric areas of south India such as Mangalore. Further, we have developed a robust network of job-work style processors (s) to process our local Raw cashew nut as well as our imported RCN from Africa. With these tie-ups with Import and local RCN supplies, a network of job-work processors and Large Scale Suppliers of Cashew Kernels - we have developed a large supply network capable of meeting the robust demand of both wholesale and retail packaged nuts market. With this, we have been able to develop a monthly supply capability of well over 50MT of Cashew Kernels across the quality spectrum -servicing retail needs to confectioners needs

Walnuts

At Proventus we have developed a robust supplier network to import walnuts (in-shell and kernel) from varied suppliers in California, USA and Chile, South America. With this sourcing capability, we are able to maintain a constant supply of walnuts across the year with an average monthly import capability of 3-5 FCL. Further, we have developed an in house capability of hand cracking and sorting 3-5MT in-shell walnut a day.

Raisins

At Proventus we have developed a diverse Raisin portfolio - covering Indian and Afghani raisins of all shapes, sizes, colours and variants from choicest suppliers. A capability to source and distribute over 20Mt a month of Sangli, India origin Golden sun-dried raisins, and an ability to source over 30 Mt of Afghani black raisins sun-dried seedless and with seed. These raisins are sorted by hand as well as automated visual sorting machines to ensure the most select raisins are supplied to final consumers

Other Dry Fruits, Nuts, Seeds & Berries

The nuts and seeds portfolio is ever increasing; continuously building on our global souring and local distribution network . This continually expanding portfolio includes but is not limited to

1. High-fat nuts: such as macadamia, brazil and hazelnuts

2. sweet and sour berries: such as cranberries and blueberries

3. Superfoods and seeds: such as quinoa, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds and flaxseeds

4. Dried Fruits: such Pineapple, kiwi etc which add to the natural candied section of our product portfolio

Spices

Being headquartered in the spice capital of the world combined with widespread souring and distribution network - the Spices basket was a natural progression for us. This rapidly expanding portfolio currently splits into the following categories at Proventus

1. Aromatic spices: clove, cumin,

2. Hot Spices: Black and White peppers

3. Mild spices: coriander, turmeric

Within this bucket, we are pushing to supply goods from the choicest sources directly to the consumers via our inhouse ProV Brand

Pulses

Operating in India - the largest producer, importer and consumer of pulses in the world, we at Proventus found it a natural progression to step into the realm of these leguminous crops. We have been dealing in a wide range of pulses in the gram, tur/ahar, urad and moong range within the domestic market as well as a setup for the import of pulses from around the globe. Beyond distribution we have partnered with a number of processors to step into the value addition sphere in the pulses market, creating a base to add the pulses to our growing staples brand ProV besides the institutional buyer we already supply.

Oilseed & Other

The Proventus team has over 30+ years of cumulative experience in the Indian domestic commodity markets and hence has had trading experience in most commodity segments in both the physical and exchange/derivatives environment. Leveraging this experience Proventus has been able to use its sourcing network and analytical ability to carry out procurement, storage, hedging and sale for a number of products in the domestic market. In these products we tend to procure directly from mandis and stockists for sale to a number of millers, processors via committed longer-term contracts and/or procure for our own cash and carry arbitrage strategies
